About Jacob Barnard

Software is not just my profession; it's where my heart truly is.I have spent the last 10 years working my way up from the call center to leading a team of developers, balancing full time jobs and attending night classes at college all while raising my daughter - I could not be happier with the path I have taken despite all the hills I've had to climb along the way.I am a life long learner and find unending joy in unraveling complex problems, crafting optimized and elegant products, and collaborating with enthusiastic minds to make an impact on industry and lives through software. My current role grants me the opportunity to learn and provide a direct impact to every part of the company - I have spent the last 5 years completely re-envisioning and rebuilding the software ecosystem at Amplex Internet. From consolidating legacy systems into a unified OSS solution to building more robust, modular solutions and redesigning processes, I have saved thousands of man hours and replaced procedures once requiring dozens of manual steps into one-click, fully automated executions. As a contractor for GE Aviation I also yielded a >300% performance increase in computing and rendering Feret measurements for the NDE CMC CT stack analysis algorithm at GE Aviation to inspect for void defects to safely qualify components faster.I strive to balance growth, vision, and craftsmanship in both my personal and professional lives.
