About Jacob Bauer

I studied public health at the University of Northern Iowa(UNI). I obtained a degree in Community Health, and a certificate for Global Health & Humanitarian Assistance. I use the information and skills developed at UNI broadly in my life. I have developed a strong ability to communicate, an ability to identify key factors for efficient workflow, and desire to create environments that enable beneficial behaviors in those around me. I am working as a test proctor and Kirkwood Community College. My skills are developing around service for students, accommodating those with special needs, and working cross-culturally across language barriers with migrants, asylum seekers, and other ESL students. I maintain confidential information and help students with a wide range of technical and information-related issues. I have also worked several years in food service. I've trained dozens of employees on food safety and customer service. Often times I was required to work in cross-cultural and multigenerational environments, both with customers and coworkers. I led fellow employees in small groups and served as a midpoint of communication between line-cooks, customers, and supervisors.
