About Jacob Cook

In the summer of 2019, Jacob had the opportunity to work for Greater Regional Health in Creston, IA as an IT Technician. With my job title, he is responsible for getting employees up and running when they are having difficulties with their technology in their everyday work style. Most of his job is done with hands-on troubleshooting, and some of it can be taken care of through the computer. He also has the responsibility of answering phone calls and dealing with the aggravated employees over technology not functioning properly. Jacob has had numerous amounts of customer service experience while working at Akin Building Center in Creston, IA during high school. His responsibilities were to get customers in and out of the store in a timely manner while being able to get the supplies that they needed. It was his task to make the customer’s experience pleasant to attract more customers to come to our local business, instead of going to the city to buy their materials. He would also be responsible for making sure the store's shelves were stocked from the overstock in the backroom as well as getting more inventory in to make sure customers were satisfied, finding everything they needed in one stop. Jacob also has experience with video editing and film while in high school, where he oversaw live streaming sporting events for our school in Creston for two years. He would also make infographics and short clips for gameday of our sporting events, which were then posted on Twitter. In Jacob's free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, disc golfing, or playing any type of competitive sport. Jacob will graduate in the Spring of 2021 with a degree in Business Technology, hoping to stay with working with IT, but is open to other jobs as well.
