About Jacob Gutshall

Jacob has spent his career as a pediatric speech-language pathologist helping children communicate. A familiar quote by Alexander Den Heije helps Jacob keeps things in perspective, “When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.” Whether providing direct therapy, training parents and graduate students, creating new programs, writing grants or supporting initiatives to reach even more children, Jacob remains dedicated to the mission of helping children achieve their communication potential through long term support and greater understanding of their needs. The Walker Scottish Rite Clinic is committed to teaching two-through six-year-old children with speech and language disorders the communication skills necessary to succeed in school and throughout their lives. This goal is achieved through early identification and long-term therapy and by training parents to use techniques with their children at home.
