About Jacob Halbert

Hello, where to begin? I'm a kind person born of Lexa, Arkansas, a scattered farmland community with 221 residents. Attending college at my state's flagship university to study Journalism meant leaving a high school class of 18 students to join a freshman class of over students. Despite my initial shock,(and I’ll be honest, terror) I grew to love the cultural diversity that Fayetteville had to offer. I’ve been there now for 8 years, and still love it. Currently, I work to aid over transfer students through their application process at the University of Arkansas, as well as recruit prospective students from junior colleges in and out of state. I enjoy this because it fulfills my desire to help others, something that I hold dearly. My dream is to have my own photography studio one day, specifically to provide POC/LGBTQ+ students a space to learn, grow and create. I’d like to provide paid internships, scholarships and counsel to mentees, in addition to offering them a safe place to develop their artistic skills. I am planning to move to Washington DC in July, 2023. I’d like to continue my career at a new university, and learn more about life beyond Arkansas. I would also happily utilize my skills and work ethic to achieve what I must to succeed in new endeavors. My ideal cohort is cooperative, driven and supportive. My ideal manager demonstrates clear communication, gives candid input, and is respectful to all whom they lead. What is your ideal candidate like?
