About Jacob Harris

Having started my entrepreneurial venture in teaching English as a foreign language in Argentina through a company I founded, IBF Education, in November 2018, I've tasted the sourness of standardized language learning, and I've vowed to bring it into the modern era using the latest linguistic research in order to help working professionals in Latin America achieve their dream jobs in the international market where a high level of English aptitude is necessary to compete for these positions. Through coaching basketball at the University of Southampton between 2014 and 2016, I allowed my teaching abilities to be tested, learning and improving my ability to break down every play, every pass and every decision to serve the multitude of situations one faces within the game of basketball. Through this experience, I became an effective communicator across a player base that stemmed over 3 continents. Having worked in various customer service roles through my youth and early 20's, I grew fond of helping customers and clients, ensuring they enjoyed their experience. At Seaview Yacht Club, I worked with high class clients who expect the highest standards of service which I believe I excelled in. I've also had the chance to run a Subway franchise in Ryde on the Isle of Wight where I acquired management skills including, stock management, staff recruitment and training staff to high levels of competence, so they are prepared for every eventuality. I have a calling to go above and beyond my contractual duty, always exceeding my contracted hours to satisfy customer experiences. I've worked in telemarketing where I won numerous inter-company awards for "top booker" where I enticed customers to visit their local car dealership for MOTs, services and repair work. My strongest asset is my insatiable appetite to learn and improve the task I've set myself upon. I've spent the last three and a half years developing an English programme for working professionals in Latin America based on the latest research in the field and trial and error. Improving my research skills and drafting up ideas on how to make the language learning process enjoyable, fast and efficient further increased my teaching aptitude for adult learners. Fiction writing happens to be a great passion of mine. I've always enjoyed telling stories, and now, I write them!
