About Jacob Hoyes

School leaver at 16 and went straight to Grantham college to start a full time diploma City & Guilds in plumbing. At the age of 17 I got selected out of 15 students to start a two year apprenticeship with KBR Gas. During the two and a half years I was with the company I completed my City & Guilds Level Two NVQ qualification. Wanting to keep improving myself I got offered a job at Mussons heating, where I carried on my apprenticeship and started my City & Guilds Level Three NVQ, going into gas. The course was meant to take a minimum of two years, due to covid and redundancy I had to find a work else where, luckily The Heating Centre offered me a job and I transferred my apprenticeship to them. During my period at the heating centre I’d would be doing boiler swaps, boiler conversions and full installs. After a good five years I’d finally completed my City & Guilds Level Three NVQ, gaining qualifications in- Natural Gas (domestic)-LPG (Domestic)- Unvented Hot water Ticket At current I’m employed and working for Dyno, a British Gas company. All aspects of my work are heating related. Currently looking for a Career to get up to scratch and build confidence as a newly qualified Gas engineer.
