A helicopter pilot since 1980 holding a Civil Helicopter Pilot Licence and rated on AS365 Dauphin N3 and ALH Helicopters. Currently on offshore duty ex Mumbai. An AS4 qualified PIC on Dauphin N3. In Defence - flown Chetak, Cheetah, Mi-8, Mi-17 and Mi-25/35 helicopters. Has been a Qualified Flying Instructor on Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-35, Chetak and ALH. Has been a test pilot and a test pilot instructor. Held important posts in the Indian Air Force such as Base Commander and Commanding Officer of flying units. Occupied staff apointments at HQ level involved in procurement. In my present job at Pawan Hans Limited, I had opportunity to fly as as a civil Capt, and could hone my skills in mountain flying, as also on off-shore tasks, and I am currently flying as Commander to off-shore drilling platforms and ships owing to my having obtained AS-4 PIC qualification. BSc in Physics, MSc in Defence and Strategic studies, M Phil in Defence and Strategic Studies. Qualified Flying Instructor (Military), Experimental Test Pilot, Experimental Test Flying Instructor. On attaining age 65, I have had to leave active flying duty, and have been given an advisory role in the same company
