About Jacob Jefferson

In my role as program officer for the Office of the President at IREX, I contribute to the implementation of innovative and impactful programs that advance education, youth, gender, and social justice in more than 100 countries. With a master's degree in international relations and six years of experience in program development, I have developed the skills and knowledge to work with diverse and marginalized groups, navigate complex and sensitive issues, and foster collaboration and learning among stakeholders. My career interest in working with underserved communities was cemented by my experience as a volunteer in Peace Corps South Africa, where I taught English, led trainings on identity and diversity, and supported local initiatives. Before that, I gained valuable cross-cultural and administrative skills as an alumni fellow at the Institute for American Universities in France, where I served as a liaison between students and faculty, coordinated conferences and events, and managed student life logistics. I then interned at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where I assisted in delivering educational programs on international affairs topics for various audiences. I am passionate about providing training and support to marginalized citizens and communities, and I am open to any work that would help me achieve this goal.
