About Jacob Kaiser

I have worked with the great team at Sulzer Turbo New Orleans for several years now and have had a lot of great opportunities to grow my knowledge in the real world of large and small businesses and how they function. Coming from a small town in Mississippi, I never knew how large industries conducted business and maintained a profitable state. With my few short years at Sulzer, I am learning how to navigate this large world of business. In today's society, everything is now interconnected through the use of technology. Technology has made businesses completely change their environments to a "fast and efficient" model. Everything is at the tips of our fingers with the right set of skills to find the answers to any industries issues. With Sulzer, I have collectively spent time in the field at the plants learning hands on skills as a Millwright under the supervision of our Field Service team, all the way to being in the office learning under the Project Management team. I have spent time as an interim Project Manager, managing our Field Machining Division, which consists of 10 plus employees in the field, and roughly $2mil in accounts per year. That was a real eye opener to project work flow. I spend time with the Procurement/Accts Payables & Receivables/Accounting team and have learned the basic skills all the way from opening a project to closing and invoicing a project. I currently handle all project opening/customer interface/cost analysis/invoicing/closing Field Machining projects for our division. Alongside our Senior Project Manager, we make sure that the customer accounts stays profitable each year. I interface as a liaison between the field team and the office administration team. Being able to communicate with both sides ensures we get all project work and paperwork completed in a timely manner, in turn, making the company as profitable as possible. This past year I was able to be enrolled in the Sulzer Learning Pathways mentoring program. With this program I was able to take online training and receive certificates for: Career Management, Decision Making Process, Feedback Essentials, Leading People, Negotiating, and Time Management. This program was very helpful to open my eyes on new insights on how to be a leader and manager in any business. I am looking forward to what work has in store for me and my growth in this large world of business.
