Father, Husband, Son, but most importantly, Friend. Zia Natural Gas Company operates both natural gas distribution and transmission systems in the NM counties of Lincoln, Dona Ana, Lea, and Colfax. Wyoming Gas Company operates both natural gas distribution and transmission systems in the WY counties of Hot Springs, Washakie, and Big Horn. As the Pipeline Safety Manager, my duties include Regulatory Compliance, Operator Qualification Program Managment, Public Awareness Program Managment, DIMP, Public Liaison Program, and Safety Program. I have almost 2 decades of experience in the natural gas industry. I started in this industry as a Customer Service Tech with Southwest Gas, Las Vegas, NV. Spent a few years as a Customer Service Tech with the City of Las Cruces, NM. In 2018, I started as an Operations Technician with Zia Natural Gas in Ruidoso, NM. In that time, I have been in technical positions skilled in transmission, measurement, corrosion, leak survey, customer pressure delivery, and appliance start up. Additionally, I have earned my NACE CP1 certification, NWIS Welding Inspector Certification, and my NM JG license. My primary role as Pipeline Safety Manager is ensuring we here at Zia operate safely and according to 49 CFR 192 and NMAC laws. Technician safety and emotional well-being is of the utmost importance to me. Not just because it is my job, but because I started in that role and I understand the demands and expectations of that role. I feel my experience in the field gives me an edge in accomplishing these goals. I believe as an individual; we learn something from every person or situation we encounter. Every lesson learned may not be an epiphany, but every lesson learned is equally important.
