About Jacob Korsgaard

I’m a programmer, I love programming! My focus is on video game development, the tech that goes into it, the different platforms, APIs, techniques and languages used to program video games. I have a special fondness of (and a masters degree in) programming languages and have been researching and studying the languages and frameworks used in video game development. I've been specializing in developing cross-platform software, code that needs to run on many different platforms and devices, mainly mobile devices. I’m also generally a pleasant and nice person, love professional discussions and team problem solving, I even like team planning! My dream job is just to develop awesome products with awesome people. I'm generally really quick at picking up and learning new tech. Here is an excerpt of stuff I've been doing:* Built and shipped the Controller Companion app on Steam * Developed a C# to C++/Java/TypeScript code converter.* Designed and built a parser generator (OOPEG)* Built and shipped a best selling Windows 8 Store App (Pin Steam)* Seen my code be shipped in several products on Android, iOS, Nintendo DS, PSP, PC and Adobe Flash.* Was Lead Programmer on a PAX10 nominated 1-month DADIU game project (Plane Weaver)* Programmed on an award winning GameJam game (MonkeyDonk)* Developed my own media center program with Managed DirectX and C#(SharpMedia)* Lectured about XNA game development for Microsoft.
