About Jacob May

I am an experienced Program and Cybersecurity Manager at Health Security Partners, a non-profit organization that works with partners in academia, industry, and government to enhance health security capacities and foster scientific collaborations worldwide. I have almost four years of experience developing, managing, and executing health security, nonproliferation, and cybersecurity projects in challenging and complex environments. My mission is to advance global health security and prevent the misuse of biological, chemical, and cyber technologies that could threaten human health and security. I have expertise in cyberbiosecurity, which is the intersection of biological and cybersecurity risks. In my current role, I oversee multiple country-specific projects in South-Southeast Asia and the Middle East-North Africa, where I engage with diverse stakeholders to design and deliver health security and cybersecurity capacity-strengthening activities. I also support the organization's cybersecurity efforts by ensuring compliance with external funder requirements, conducting regular security audits, and updating standard operating procedures. Additionally, I served as a Cyberbiosecurity Technical Committee Member for the International Federation of Biosafety Associations, where I assisted in developing certification competency criteria for mitigating cybersecurity risks within biological laboratories. I utilize my skills in program management, project management, and cybersecurity to effectively communicate project progress and effectiveness, establish and advance strategic partnerships, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
