Jacob Miller- Doctoral Candidate in Chemical Engineering at the University of Louisville About Me I am a 5th-year Doctoral Candidate at the University of Louisville, specializing in Chemical Engineering with a focus on integrating machine learning and computational fluid dynamics in biomedical research, particularly coronary artery disease. My academic journey is complemented by industry experience that has shaped my problem-solving approach. ‍ Current Role As a Teaching Assistant, I guide students in courses like Unit Operations and Chemical Reactor Design. I have been responsible for mentoring six undergraduate/Master's students in their research endeavors. My own research revolves around developing CFD/ML-based methodologies for the use of residence time distribution in coronary artery disease. Professional Background My industry experience includes roles at Clariant as a Production/Quality Co-op Engineer, where I managed quality metrics and equipment installation, and at Advanced Energy Materials as an R&D Co-Op Engineer focusing on heterogeneous catalysis. Education and Expertise Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, I plan to complete my Doctorate prior to May, 2025. My expertise lies in machine learning, data analysis, mathematical modeling, and computational fluid dynamics, particularly in chemical and biomedical contexts.
