About Jacob Mushatt

As a Campus Tour Guide at the University of San Diego (USD), I lead tours regularly throughout the school year and assist in the interview process of prospective tour guides. I enjoy sharing my passion for USD and its academic, cultural, and social opportunities with prospective students and their families. I have developed strong communication, relationship building, and persuasion skills through this role, as well as a deep knowledge of the campus and its history. I also have experience in sales, cold calling, and door to door marketing, having worked as a Solar Sales Consultant at Vivint Solar and a Door to Door Sales Representative at EcoShield Pest Solutions. I knocked door to door daily, setting appointments and closing deals in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area and the islands of Oahu and Maui, Hawaii. I built lasting relationships with hundreds of people on a monthly basis, and achieved multiple sales goals and quotas. I learned how to adapt to different environments, customers, and products, and how to overcome challenges and objections. I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from USD, with an expected graduation date of May 2024. I also participated in a Semester at Sea program in Fall 2022, where I traveled to 10 countries and studied philosophy from a global perspective. I am interested in exploring the ethical, social, and political implications of philosophy, and how it can inform and improve decision making and problem solving in various domains. I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge to new opportunities and challenges, and to contribute to the success of any organization or team I join.
