About Jacob Patterson

I work with small mammal models of Neurotrauma, and my group is looking to understand how we can mitigate blast injuries in military service members. I am involved in every step of our research, from planning and budgeting orders, scheduling experiments across multiple protocols, performing animal and bench research, and analyzing our end data. I have extensive training in lab bench work including ELISAs, Western Blots, Flow Cytometry, Mitochondrial Assays, and more. I have been trained in rodent behavior assays, including rota-rod, Morris Water Maze, Y-maze, light-dark box, fear conditioning, and others. I have extensive experience in rodent surgical procedures, including blast over-pressure exposure, anesthesia, cardiac draw, CSF collection, brain collection, and brain dissection.
