I really enjoy linguistics research-reading it, doing it, and writing about it. I also believe strongly that language teaching practice should be informed by the latest research. Before I got my MA in TESOL / Applied Linguistics, I taught English with companies whose "best practices" were informed primarily by what was convenient, not what helped students learn a second or foreign language. That's why I decided to go back to school for my MA in TESOL. It's also why I decided to start giving research-informed language lessons.
