About Jacob Roberts

I have been in teams with good managers, great managers, and challenging managers. I have also been placed in training and leadership roles in the various companies I have worked for. I’ve been a challenging and good supervisor and trainer, but I want to work towards being a great one. I have learned that expectations make or break teams. When management sees employees as the problem, employees become the problem. When management sees problems as opportunities, their problems become opportunities. That single realization helped me to alter the way I behaved as a production lead, and it made all the difference in my job and in my life. “Stuff” rolls down hill, to slightly alter the popular military saying. I wasn’t always good at math. I barely made it through high school math courses and I failed my first college algebra course. Then I had a professor who helped me with the fundamentals. By the time I was in my statistics courses, math had become my easiest subject. A good trainer and a good mentor can make all the difference. I love accounting. I love business. But I love people more. I want to develop skills that will help me to grow into a better leader for my industry. I want to work with great teams and learn powerful lessons from amazing people. I want to be able to move into management later in my career to facilitate that change in others and to continue to learn from the people I work with and for.
