About Jacob Sagers

I am an undergraduate student at Utah State University pursuing a double major in Political Science and French, complemented by minors in Data Analytics and International Studies. My academic journey has taken me worldwide, from conducting interview-based qualitative fieldwork in Tunisia to being a Department of State Gilman Scholarship Fellow while studying abroad in France. I've also delved into archival work at Morocco's National Archives and engaged in public affairs outreach focusing on geopolitics and Iran. Driven by a passion for public service and data-driven decision-making, I aim to bridge the gap between people and data in my future career. My internship experience at the Center for Analytics within the U.S. Department of State exposed me to the intersection of AI, communications, and data policy. Coupled with my background in quantitative research methods, my experiences have inspired me to pursue opportunities where I can contribute to enhancing government, policy, and research through informed data practices. Currently, I am applying to graduate programs that merge my interests in international relations and data science. I am thrilled about the potential to leverage my skills and experiences in shaping impactful policies and initiatives.
