The first 12 years of my career I worked as a market risk specialist and the rest has been in the trade/market surveillance of bonds, equities, equity derivatives, interest rate derivatives, commodity and currency derivatives. The core mandate of the latter role is the identification of market abuse, specifically insider trading/dealing and prohibited trading practices otherwise known as market manipulation.
