About Jacob Smolka
MSc Mechanical Engineering student, specializing in High-Tech Systems and Materials (HTSM). This specialization encompasses courses in (non)-linear solid mechanics, material behaviour (plastics, rubbers, CFRP and metals), designing with composite materials, surface treatments and advanced finite element simulations (ANSYS). By the age of 11, I watched Andre Kuipers' space journey with great fascination, and since then my fascination for engineering increased more and more. Nowadays I have a vast passion for innovation, design and high-speed manufacturing. My ultimate goal is to utilise my knowledge and skills to contribute to a more sustainable society. Outside of education, I spend time with friends and family or play the piano and (bass) guitar.
