About Jacob Struve

Hi my name is Jacob Struve. Iʼm a recent graduate of the Textiles and Fashion Design program at UW-Madison. Iʼm interested in design, fashion, printing and dyeing, graphic design, pattern-making, sustainability, and material culture among other things. Iʼve had several experiences in many of my classes that have led me to these interests. I have seen success in rug design as well as printing and dyeing by winning a competition for the rug and completing a capstone for the latter. I am looking for a paid internship that I would love to turn into a full time job after I graduate in May 2024. My long term goals are to end up working in sportswear or the esports industry since I am an avid fan and played a variety of sports and video games growing up. I know a lot about what makes sports equipment useful and desirable to an athlete as well as marketable to the general public. I have interests in the entire creation/design process of a textile, which would make me a good fit anywhere on the supply chain. In addition to the design process I am also passionate about color theory and optics. I thoroughly enjoy learning about how colors and shapes can affect mood or how we perceive a space or object. I hope that one day I can help with research on this topic to improve projects for both a company and the public. In addition to my interests, I would say that I am compassionate, easy to work/get along with, caring about the community, and well-rounded.
