About Jacob Tran

I'm currently a penultimate-year undergraduate studying Economics and Maritime Operations at Singapore Management University. My primary economics interest includes Industrial Organization and Development Economics. Much as I believe in the power of the market to drive innovation, I am also concerned about how markets can be more effectively regulated to ensure sustainable development and equality. Therefore, topics like competition, market structure, and anti-trust regulations are my important research interest. I am interested in how policies can be designed to create a more level playing field in markets, while maintaining firm autonomy. I am also passionate about the maritime and commodity industry, given that commodities are a huge economic factor for many countries in South East Asia. I care especially about the industry's transition to sustainability and how it can affect growth in SEA. I love learning languages and exposing myself to different cultures. I can speak English, Vietnamese, French, and Mandarin to various proficiencies
