About Jacob Wilson

I am a recent graduate from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I studied business analytics and finance. I am a very strong problem solver and a dedicated leader. An example of my problem-solving capabilities can be found in my strong academic performance and job as a wellness coach. As a YMCA wellness coach, I constantly must tailor specific approaches to my clients for them to stay on track with their fitness goals. I flourish in a dynamic environment coupled with a great team alongside myself. My skills as a dedicated leader are derived from the wide array of projects I have worked on or been a part of. An example of my leadership can be found in one of my engineering projects. I took on the role of the group leader and was responsible for ensuring that the group was on track to meet deadlines with work that surpassed all requirements for an exceptional project. My adaptability to new situations and tasks exemplifies some of my abilities as a strong leader. My workplace is changing facilities in the coming year, so I make sure that all my wellness clients understand and can adapt to the new direction that the YMCA is taking. I have guided customers on tours of our new facility and have made sure that they feel comfortable knowing that my coaching approach and initiative will not change in this time of uncertainty. My immediate goals include but are not limited to attending a prestigious MBA program, competing in a bodybuilding competition, and getting a job as a business/ IT analyst. I would like to attend a prestigious MBA program because I want to improve my candidacy for a C-suite position later in life and develop sound leadership skills at the graduate level. My most immediate goal is to further develop my knowledge of IT functions in the healthcare industry. I have enjoyed my studies in business analytics, but I have a particular liking for information technologies. I would like to showcase my abilities as a worker and leader to an established company in the analytics realm. Above all else, I want to continuously prove myself as a strong candidate for a high-level position in the business analytics and information technology fields.
