A Benedict College Graduate Majored In Criminal Justice Worked Two Internships during my time in college, The first was a internship with Congressman Jim Clyburn at his office located on 1225 Lady St, Columbia, SC 29201. There I learned how to Deal with constituents, hearing there problems and concerns and communicating with them to get them to the correct person on Congressman Clyburn’s staff. Attended events that they hosted anytime they needed an intern to step in. Worked on assigned special projects. My second Internship was with Columbia Police department where I spent a lot of time learning about how officers work and there daily routine. I was able to do a ride along and actually see how they operate Body cameras and Dash cameras. I also was able to take away a lot of knowledge on how to work in a job setting. Respect for individuals and dealing with aggressive or combative people. I learned a lot about safety and control over stressful situations. Following my internship I was instructed to write a paper about my experiences for my College Course. My topic was policing the community and how they have worked to help a community that is constantly changing and the way community policing has evolved. Walmart (3 years) During my time at Walmart, I was a college student full time and an associate full time with the ability to grasp anything that was thrown at me. I held many titles during my time at Walmart starting out as a Cart attendant, moving into Working as a cashier, leading into me dealing with Sales associate of lawn and garden/electronics/hardware, and ultimately placing myself into the Stockroom as a Inventory control team associate. As I progressed with my college career I began to get interested In placing myself more towards my field, while Walmart had no aspect of my field that i could really jump into, I found myself having a love for Loss Prevention, which later led me to apply and get promoted to an Loss Prevention Associate. I was able to make connections and see the differences in the way stores function from a different view. This allowed me to know the dangers of retail shrink on a company and ultimately my role was to minimize shrink in a fast paced high volume setting.
