About Jacque Lavelle

In my current role as Special Assistant to the Director at the National Park Service, my focus is on creating impactful change through historical reconciliation and community engagement. The creation of three new National Monuments stand as testaments to our team's commitment to crafting legally defensible documents that honor our nation's history.My competencies in analytical thinking and negotiation have been instrumental in fostering collaborations and nurturing relationships with communities and Tribal governments. Over my 30+ years in the National Park Service, my assignments ranged from managing concession contracts, writing environmental assessments, rehabilitating historic structures, drafting congressional testimony, negotiating contracts, to serving as park superintendent. In each assignment I prided myself in building a supportive and high functioning team with a focus on resource stewardship and our role as public servants.
