About Jacqueline Fahey

Dr. Jacqueline Fahey is a licensed psychologist in the state of CA (#32173). She is currently employed as the Program Director of and an Assistant Professor for the PsyD program in the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University (AIU) in Sacramento, California. She is also an alumna of that program. She completed her APA-accredited internship at the community mental health clinic Family Service & Guidance Center in Topeka, Kansas and her post-doctoral fellowship at the UC Davis Dept. of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences in the Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Services (CAPS) Clinic in Sacramento, California. She has previous experience working at the Veteran's Affairs Northern California Health Care System (VA NCHCS), the Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), Job Corps, in school settings, as well as the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) at California State Prison - Sacramento. She has experience providing individual, couples, and group psychotherapy (DBT skills, self-esteem, anger management, and healthy relationships), intakes/structured interviews, comprehensive assessment batteries, working on multi-disciplinary teams, and completing integrated reports. She also has an extensive background in research having been a member of multiple research teams that have explored a variety of topics such as, 1) the role of resiliency in post-combat Veterans; 2) the effects of introducing health behavior change on the rate of parasitic disease in rural villages in Vietnam, and; 3) and the impact of conducting international research on graduate students. She currently runs a research lab that is focusing on topics related to health psychology. Current projects include 1) examining the role of stigma, resiliency, and spirituality on the experience of pregnancy loss; and 2) mindfulness and postpartum mental health outcomes. In addition to currently working as a full-time faculty member, Dr. Fahey is contracted with Sutter-Yuba Behavioral Health to complete all of the psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and transition-aged youth (18-25). These comprehensive evaluations request thorough diagnostic clarification for complex cases with diverse clientele. Dr. Fahey also has experience completing forensic evaluations working alongside lawyers and the court systems.Her main areas of interest, experience, and passion include perinatal/postpartum mental health, children/adolescents, assessment, play therapy, sand tray therapy, death/grief, and trauma.
