About Jacquelyn Mills

My occupations as well as volunteer work throughout college have led me to my interest in nursing. Through my volunteer experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant I learned how to properly care for geriatric individuals during their end stages of life as well as build therapeutic relationships with patients and their family members. I also received praise for my thorough documentation during my shift. By working at Trinity Horse Farm, I learned how to not only care for animals but also teach individuals ages 7-60 how to ride horses while improving my communication skills to individuals of all ages. One of the biggest accomplishments was going from teaching only two students to teaching twenty students each week, this was a result from all the recommendations I received from other students. Overall it is my belief that my remarkable problem-solving skills displayed through these two experiences will assist me in this career path. During the year spent in nursing school I was able to perform exceptionally well in the clinical setting, performing post mortem care, assisting patients with their daily needs, taking vitals, and proper documentation of everything that was completed. Documentation served as a very important part of nursing.
