About Jacquelyn Rogers

Welcome to my profile! I am an attorney licensed in California, with seven years of prior experience in academia, as an Associate Professor of Law at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. In addition to substantive law teaching community property, I was Interim Director of Academic Success, where I supervised faculty teaching legal skills to first year law students, as well as other first-year programming. I was also responsible for directing 70 upper division law students who served as academic mentors for first-year law students (the "Dean's Fellow" Program). I worked for the State Bar of California, as an attorney in their General Counsel Office. There, I worked specifically in the Complaint Review Unit, where I reviewed attorney disciplinary complaints that were closed by the Office of Chief Trial Counsel and the complaining witness requested a second review and decision. I am also a bar preparation tutor, where I prepare applicants for all components of the California Bar Exam and the Uniform Bar Exam. This work blends instruction of 13 areas of substantive law with legal analysis and exam strategy. The performance test portion of the exam focuses on writing legal memorandums and argument portions of briefs. Additionally, I clerked for the honorable Judge Amy Pellman, where I conducted legal research pertaining to child dependency cases. Give my practice and teaching experience in a variety of legal areas, my legal interests are broad. I embrace challenge and life-long learning.
