About Jacques Botha

My name is Jacques Botha, and I hold a BSc in Environmental Science and a BScHons in Geography and Environmental Science. I am proud to have recently completed my Master’s degree in Environmental Management with distinction from the University of Pretoria. Throughout my academic journey, I have continually sought to enhance my skills and knowledge through various online courses. I have completed beginner courses in Structured Query Language (SQL) and Python through Sololearn, as well as an introductory course in Lidar in ArcGIS and change detection using imagery through Esri. Additionally, I have completed a Beginner’s Guide to Snake Identification for Southern Africa through the African Snakebite Institute (ASI). I am passionate about leveraging advances in technology to mitigate environmental problems. My interests include soil rehabilitation techniques, water conservation strategies, and the implementation of sustainable practices in the mining industry. I am dedicated to fostering responsible environmental management and educating others about best practices. In my work environment, I value efficiency, honesty, and determination. I am proactive and committed to continuous improvement, always seeking opportunities for professional development. Looking forward, I am eager to apply my new knowledge and skills to create a positive impact in the mining industry and beyond.
