About Jacques Carette
I am currently a Professor at the McMaster University, where I conduct research in meta-programming (I am Chair of IFIP Working Group 2.11 on Program Generation) and mechanized mathematics (I worked at Maplesoft from 11 years, with many different roles). I also dabble with quantum computing, where I've co-authored two different foundational languages. A lot of my work is open source (https://github.com/JacquesCarette). While educated as a mathematician, including a Ph.D, I find myself being a computer scientist. I like building effective systems based on firm theoretical foundations. I'm co-author and maintainer of a fully-formalized, in Agda, Category Theory library, and on the maintenance team for Agda's stdlib.
