About Jacques Roux

I completed a Chemical Engineering degree specializing in minerals processing in 2012. While studying I completed various courses including a diploma in project management. During this period I did vacation work Anglo Gold and Kroondal Platinum for exposure. I joined the Professionals In Training (PIT) metallurgy program of Kumba Iron Ore in 2013. This program includes training in all fields including: In shift training, MQA training, safety, emotional intelligence and the legal liability of supervisors. I assisted the commissioning of the UHDMS Plant during December 2013. I acted as Process Engineer representing Sishen and Kolomela mines on the Modular plant projects. I reviewed process design and operating philosophies. I built sustainable relationships with the EPCM, Kumba corporate office and the mines and assisted the stakeholder engagement. As part of the operational readiness team I compiled the training material and trained the operators. I also assisted other activities, this includes the commissioning of both projects. I joined Anglo American Technical Solutions in September 2015 as a Metallurgical Analyst. I applied metallurgical processes and principles to support metallurgists with test work and plant surveys. I was SHE Representative and led the Emergency Response Team (ERT). I was the lead process representative for the design, construction and commissioning of an ultra-fine DMS for Iron ore. I joined Consulmet as a Process Engineer in 2017. My responsibilities included design and commissioning of plants in various commodities including Diamonds, Coal, Iron Ore. I have assisted projects both locally and in Africa. I also assisted process audits at various plants. During 2019 I joined the Future of Mogalakwena project team as a Process Engineer where I supported the Principal Platinum Concentrators:Capital projects with various projects including the Mogalakwena Third Concentrator Feasibility study and other projects. I am currently a Project Specialist on the Anglo American Group Processing Team. I am suporting the Group Processing Team an Future of Mogalakwena Project Team with process deliverables.
