About Jacques Vaney

Global finance professional with over 30 years’ experience in debt, equity and strategic planning. Proven track record in originating, structuring and executing complex deals and projects. Solid industry expertise in agri-business, commodities, banking, environmental services, and real estate. A decisive and entrepreneurial leader with excellent communication skills and creative problem solving. Significant Board Representation experience in both Brazil and US. Mr. Vaney began his career in commercial banking with UBS in lending to the commodities sector. He then developed a successful global trade finance and structured debt practices for Latin America (including product development and credit procedures). Whilst at UBS he originated and structured in excess of US$ 3 billion in high quality, profitable loan assets. In he established Emerge Resources and set up operations between New York and Sao Paulo, Brazil where he resided from 2002 to 2015. He has worked principally at the shareholder and CEO level. During this period, he structured and closed in excess of $300 million of debt and equity transactions. Additionally, served as an advisor and independent board member for Amaggi, a leading agricultural company in Brazil which grew from annual revenues of $100 million to over $4.0 billion. From 2009 to 2012 he was actively involved with HRH The Prince of Wales Rainforest's Project. He worked with key stakeholders including NGOs, private sector supply chain companies and governments to develop market-based initiatives to enhance tropical food production while reducing deforestation. Recently, he has worked with leading institutional investor to develop a detailed investment thesis and a program for investment in agricultural production in Latin America. Broad contact base at senior levels in finance, government, NGO and private sectors in US, Latin America and Europe. Speaks fluent English, Portuguese and French as well as proficient Spanish.
