Background

About Jacques Wagstaff

I am a Machine Learning Engineer/Data Scientist with multiple years of industrial experience. After my PhD in Physics and working in research for 3 years I started my career as a Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer. My journey started at SimCog Technologies building forecasting models for various customers in the pharmaceutical and logistic industries.I then moved to Ibeo Automotive Systems where I helped develop deep learning models for perception tasks, such as object recognition and semantic segmentation on Lidar point-cloud and camera data. My work was strongly focused on developing tools and pipelines to facilitate product development and lifecycle management.Today, I am at understand.ai, developing automated solutions for annotating data. In my current role, I work on various topics in MLOps and deep learning model development. What I love to do is building clean and robust data-driven solutions to challenging problems, leveraging state-of-the-art Machine Learning techniques.
