About Jacqui Bramwell

Jacqui leads the Stakeholder Partnerships team within Deakin's Global Engagement portfolio. Jacqui's team focusses on business development in key places where Deakin University has an interest but not a campus (Melbourne's West, Riverina and Bendigo). The team brokers strategic partnerships with industry, government and community with mutual benefits for all partners. Jacqui also brokers 'One Deakin' partnerships with stakeholders with whom Deakin has multiple points of engagement, such as City of Wyndham, Hobsons Bay City Council, Surf Coast Shire, MBAV (Master Builders Association of Victoria). Jacqui is an innovative business development professional with an outstanding track record of effective cross sector partnership brokerage. She is a Fellow of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation. Between 2009 and 2015, Jacqui was CEO of GELLEN, a not for profit partnership brokerage organisation. During this period, GELLEN won the Victorian State Training Award for Industry collaboration, in partnership with East Gippsland Food Cluster, Advance TAFE and Link Employment, for a rotational traineeship model in the food sector. Jacqui was Regional Partnerships Manager for DELWP (Dept of Environment, Land, Water and Planning) in Gippsland between 2002 and 2009. She was instrumental in introducing cross sector partnerships with tourism, health and the arts into Gippsland’s state forests, including ‘Go For Your Life, the Icon Walks series, the Hinterland Drive and Nowa Nowa sculpture walk. Jacqui has excellent skills in communication, facilitation, strategic planning and project management, along with a passion for values-driven leadership and sustainable development in rural and regional Australia. She has political acumen with effective advocacy skills, and enjoys building capacity of others through mentoring and coaching.
