About Jacqui Clay

Dr. Jacqueline “Jacqui” Clay, a retired Army Command Sergeant Major with 25 years of service, has dedicated 16 years to education in roles such as Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE). She currently serves as the Superintendent of Schools in Cochise County and as an Adjunct Professor at Grand Canyon University’s College of Education.In 2024, Dr. Clay was honored with the Carolyn Warner Women in Leadership Award by the Arizona School Administrators (ASA) and Grand Canyon College of Education (GCE). She was also recognized by the Canyon Vista Medical Center and the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona for her inclusion on the Veterans Wall at Canyon Vista Medical Center (CVMC) in 2023. Dr. Clay was named Arizona’s Career and Technical Education Administrator (CTE) of the Year in 2016 and received the Policymaker Award from the Association for Career and Technical Education of Arizona (ACTEAZ) in 2020. She actively participates on several boards, including the Arizona State Board of Education (AZSBE), Arizona Association of Counties (AACo), and the Arizona Business and Education Coalition (ABEC).Dr. Clay holds a B.S. in Information Technology/Business Management, an M.ET in Educational Technology, an ED.S in Educational Leadership, and a Doctor of Education (ED.D) in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Organizational Development. She has been married to J. Dale Clay for 34 years and is a proud mother of 7 children, grandmother of 22, and great-grandmother of 1.
