About Jade Chalkley

I am a sustainability professional in higher education with expertise in working with reporting and student programming to measure and enhance sustainability goals in various institutions. My experience includes using the AASHE STARS tool at institutions with different sustainability ratings ranging from Bronze to Platinum. I've developed first-year student programs, internships, residence life initiatives, and diversity and inclusion resources with a focus on building sustainable communities. Currently, I serve as the Peer Education Program Coordinator at the University of New Hampshire, where I oversee and design programming and infrastructure for the 1st year student Changemaker Fellows program, SI internship program, Residence Life Sustainability Avocates, and Trash 2 Treasure move-out reuse program. I also coordinate and oversee 30 student employees working on these initiatives and others at UNH both in programing and operations. Before UNH, I worked as the Sustainability Fellow at the University of Mississippi, directing social media, coordinating sustainability internships, developing staff/faculty partnerships across campus, achieving Bee Campus Certification, and developing a Diversity and Inclusion Guide. I also have experience in marketing, presentations, and data analysis from my time at Florida Gulf Coast University. With a Master's in Higher Education/Student Personnel and Life Design Studio Training from Stanford University, I'm committed to advancing sustainability in higher education. I'm open to collaboration and discussions around best practices and frequently shared challenges in analyzing sustainability student programs, engaging students with sustainability content, and creating more sustainable campuses.
