About Jade Gomez

I'm a May 2019 graduate from the Honors College at Salisbury University with a B.A. in Psychology as well as minors in Spanish and Latin American Studies. During my time at SU I was an active student researcher in a quantitative memory and learning development lab for three years. In this lab, I helped the primary investigator conduct several studies focusing on children ages 3-11 in school settings as well as Living Laboratories. I also created and conducted an original Honors Thesis in this lab titled,"Children's abilities to judge their own and other's knowledge for novel information". I am working on getting this work published in an undergraduate journal. I was also a student researcher in a Racism and Coping lab in which I helped the primary investigator conduct a qualitative study on intimate race dialogues by recruiting, screening, observing, transcribing and doing literature searches. I worked in this lab for one year and was awarded a summer research grant from the Office of Graduate Studies at Salisbury University in 2018. In the future, I hope to further develop the research skills that I gained during my undergraduate experience and begin to focus on topics more closely related to families and parenting in diverse and cross-cultural contexts. Some fun facts about me include that I am a first-generation college student and I love to spend time with my goldendoodle, Bella!
