About Jade Monks

Speech and language therapist who has over 2 years of experience working with a paediatric caseload for the NHS in the UK. I have experience in working with a broad range of clients, including autism, hearing impairment, language delay/ disorder, speech delay/disorder and stammers. In my most recent role, I have worked with children with complex needs such as children with autism, Down syndrome, learning disabilities and genetic disorders. I also have experience in providing assessment for children being investigated for possible autism aged 0-5 years. I have experience in implementing a range of evidence based interventions such as the following: colourful semantics, cycles approach, narrative therapy, an early social communication group based on Hanen-More than words, intensive interaction, See and Learn programme for Down syndrome, and a range of AAC approaches e.g. LAMP, PECS, PODD, Proloquotogo. In the course of my career as a speech and language therapist, I have developed excellent organisational skills, enabling me to meet deadlines e.g. writing EHC reports and care plan targets, meeting waiting list times for initial referrals, excellent communication skills which I am able to adapt to meet the needs of my communication partner, and I am often credited for being a valuable team member who brings positivity and optimism to the team.
