About Jade Williamson

Hi! I am an educator and practicing artist. I teach in the intermediate/senior division specializing in Visual Arts and Social Sciences. I am blessed to be in a profession where I can merge my two passions; art and teaching. I want to learn and continue to grow with my students. I am determined to inspire my students to keep pursuing their passions, continue to express themselves, and take creative risks. My artistic practice is informed by an interest in wildlife and raising awareness for endangered species. Alongside actively working as an artist and pursuing a career as an art educator, I am the Exclusive Artist for Polar Nation. I have been producing artwork used for the creation of products of which proceeds go towards Polar Bears International for polar bear conservation. I also joined the Embassy Cultural House website team and coordinated their International Women’s Day exhibition. In 2021, I had my first solo exhibition In Peril at For the Love of Art art gallery. I have been awarded the David Magee Scholarship in Visual Arts and the Mackie Cryderman Award for Excellence in Visual Arts. Recently, I was on CTV News and was additionally featured in various news articles.
