About Jaime Alvarez

I'm Jaime Alvarez a Spanish guy who has been settled in Aberdeen (Scotland) since 2016. When I came to Scotland, it was my first time living abroad. However I was quite lucky and I found my first job in Muchacho, a small local food company. I worked there as a waiter staff/cooker for almost 3 years until I felt I needed a change, so I moved into Latin Way, another small local company managed by people like me, people who found their opportunity in a different country. Here, the job was almost the same but I was given more decisions-making power as I would manage the shop when owners were not there. After almost two years working there, they could not offer me what I needed so I had to change and move on. It is then when I found a job as a chef in the famous Scottish Brewery, BrewDog. Since then, I've been working there and survived all together, including the COVID-19 pandemic where things got hard for many. Within the first year I was promoted to Kitchen Assistant Manager because my experience, hard work and ideas. I still working there but I decided that I really wanted a change, so I started studying an HND in Technology in Business in 2020. I really like everything related with data management or data entry so that is one of the key points of why I decided to study that curse. From there, Wanted to get my education further, so I started an University business degree at Robert Gordon University, Business with Data Analytics. Currently, I am still on my second year but I am definitely dedicated to it so I finally can do the change I wanted to and move out from the hospitality industry and move on to my new discovered passion: the data analysis and its uses in any industry. Right now I am looking for placement for my third year at university which will give the insight and the experience within the industry to keep improving my skills and capabilities.
