Background
About Jake A. Evinger
I am in my second year of pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Houston Law Center. I graduated in May of 2022 from Texas Christian University in just four years with two four-year degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, along with minors in Political Science and Spanish for Business Professions. In my last year there, I was proud to serve as Head Supervisor of the campus's student-operated safety service, Froggie 5-0, as well as one of the first Directors of the AddRan Ambassadors, a new program created by the Dean of the AddRan Liberal Arts College dedicated to developing critical professional and leadership skills in liberal arts students at TCU. Once at the University of Houston Law Center, I continued my history of involvement in my academic and professional community in more than a few ways. From my time serving as a Student Representative for my 1L section in our Student Bar Association and working directly under our SBA President, to participating in simulated legal competitions like Moot Court, and even serving as an Admissions Ambassador, I made the most of my time as a 1L. After spending my 1L summer in Austin with the Texas Attorney General's Office in the Consumer Protection Division, I felt even further conviction in my goal to find a path on my legal career where I can do good and exercise my litigation skills at the same time. As a 2L, I am a provisional member of the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal, the Internal Vice President of our SBA, and have competes in the SIU Health Law Moot Court Competition and the Giles S. Rich Memorial Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition. In the spring of my 2L year, I was also proud to serve as a judicial intern in the chambers of Judge Brown of the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas. I will be spending six weeks of my 2024 summer with Serpe Andrews. In my spare time, I love tinkering with computers, watching science fiction films, cooking new dishes, jogging, singing, and amateur photography.
