Details, jazz music, fantastic subject material, and a whole lot of ups and downs. — DETAILS — Those details? Well, AP Style is my second language. Editing is my passion. Plus, my standards are uncommonly high. Lowering one’s standards is like sprinting the first mile of a marathon. It means disaster in the long run. Shortcuts and shoulder shrugs lead to content that at best confuses the reader and at worst embarrasses the company. I dig the details, and the results speak volumes. — CONTENT STRATEGY — I’m a details-oriented writer and editor at heart, but after years spent developing ideas for new content across various industries, I’m more of a content strategist than I ever thought I’d be. Customer stories, branding videos, landing pages, white papers, solution briefs, and blog posts deserve more than great technical writing. They need TLC in the form of creative thinking, audience identification, SEO research and common sense (remember that?). I’ve taken my lumps, but now I implement these facets of content strategy with vigor and regularity. — SUBJECT MATTER THAT MATTERS — You can’t craft great content without great subjects to write about. I’ve been fortunate enough to work for a daily newspaper, a hospital, a nonprofit, and a technology company that helps just about every industry.
