Background
About Jake Breadman
In 2022, I completed an M.A. in History from Brock University and an M.A. in Public History from Western University. My research focuses on colonial Canadian history, particularly the War of 1812. I’m currently in my fourth year of a PhD in History at Queen's University, where I’m writing an environmental history of the War of 1812, examining how factors like weather and disease shaped the conflict around the Great Lakes. Since 2013, I’ve worked at various historic sites, including Fort George, Brock's Monument, Fort Erie, The Brown Homestead, and Bellevue House. As a public historian, I’ve presented on diverse historical topics at institutions like the Brock University Historical Society, Tri-University History Conference, Niagara Falls History Museum, and Bellevue House.
