About Jake Bullock

I’m an Off-Highway Automotive Engineering Student with a deep-rooted passion for military vehicles and technology, both past and present. From restoring a WWII Jeep during high school and sixth form to winning the Young Preservationist of the Year award from the National Transport Trust in 2021, I’ve combined hands-on mechanical skills with an engineer’s mindset from an early age.During my industrial placement at Horstman Defence Systems, I worked alongside experienced engineers on real-world defence projects, applying CAD expertise to design and drafting work at a professional level. Alongside my academic and professional development, I’ve used my CAD skills to remanufacture parts for the restoration of military vehicles, helping preserve historic vehicles with modern engineering tools and techniques.I’m particularly passionate about suspension systems and their role in vehicle performance, reflected in my dissertation investigating the effect of active suspension on main armament stability in military platforms. Looking ahead, I’m eager to apply my technical skills and passion for defence engineering in a role where I can make a long-term impact.
