About Jake Burns

As a software engineer and a computer science student at the University of North Florida, I have developed a diverse and comprehensive skill set that enables me to excel in various aspects of software development. Most recently, I worked as a back end developer at SIDO Labs, where I contributed to the design and implementation of an IoT platform that leverages event-driven architectures and real-time data processing using Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams. Working with Java on a large-scale mono repository, I gained valuable insights into software architecture and collaborative development practices. Prior to that, I explored different frameworks and tools, such as Angular, Node, and Flutter, to create engaging user interfaces, robust websites, and dynamic applications. I also delved into UI design, website development, and application building, enhancing my creativity and versatility. By continually expanding my knowledge and staying attuned to the latest industry trends, I strive to remain adaptable and versatile.
