Background
About Jake Clayton
As a writer and educator, I investigate the relationships between authors' texts, their intended audiences, and their desired outcomes. My position as an instructor at North Carolina State University requires the ability to explain complex rhetorical situations to nascent writers, a skill I also implement in my freelance and volunteer work. Whether I am transforming a parts list into a narrative or an interview into a blog post, my process of adaptation seeks a balance between the needs of my stakeholders and the interests of my audience. When I'm not writing, you can find me volunteering, advocating, and enjoying Raleigh's subtropical climate on my bicycle. specialties: adapting technical documents for lay audiences, blogging, researching and reporting
