About Jake Dudum

After discovering my passion for web development, I decided to dive in and make a severe change in my career path from customer service to tech. I attended a Full Stack Web Development Bootcamp sponsored by UC Berkeley Extension, where I received my certificate in Full Stack Web Development. At this Bootcamp, I learned how to build projects with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, and MySQL, along with frameworks such as React.js and Handlebars.js. You can check out everything I built during those jam-packed three months over on my GitHub. https://github.com/JakeDudum Not long after graduating from my Bootcamp, I decided to become a teaching assistant for that same Bootcamp to hone my newly acquired skills. When the COVID-19 pandemic swept the world, it left many without jobs, but I was fortunate enough to continue my work as a Full Stack TA during the pandemic through remote work. Throughout my time as a TA, I have been able to see and solve hundreds of errors on dozens of student projects leading to the catch phase I often give to students,"When in doubt, console log it out.". Thankfully with the pandemic coming to a close, I have started reapplying to find my first Web Developer job. To that end, I have begun finishing off courses from my long list of Udemy courses that I have been acquiring over numerous sales to branch out of my usual web stack. My primary focus right now is on PHP, and I am currently working on learning the Laravel framework to refactor my entire PHP CMS project with it. So far, I'm two courses down and 60+ hours in with many more to go, but I'm enjoying every minute of it. I’m looking forward to bringing all of my skills and passion for coding to a full-time role.
