About Jake Exline

In relation to sports, my volunteer time at YMCA has been quite valuable. Being given the opportunity to coach a soccer team has helped my leadership skills, along with my organizational skills having to develop weekly lesson plans for practice and game lineups. As a football assistant at Davenport, I helped shoot video during weekly practices and scrimmages. To be as efficient as possible, I had to communicate with coaches to make sure what I was filming at each time increment during practice. As an intern and league ambassador at Grand Rapids Sport and Social Club, I was able to see firsthand how a sports club facilitates, and how it creates a positive connection with its’ clients through face to face and social media. Additionally, I have great writing and communication skills through my experience writing and proofreading sports related articles at Pro Sports Extra. As the main editor, being precise was vital, because my goal was to make these articles look as professional as possible. With this background, combined with some general business experience at Davenport, has given me a different perspective that would be predominantly valuable in meeting the responsibilities in a Sports Management workplace.
