About Jake Fairley

After taking a year out to to do some travelling I am keen on getting back to work and putting my skills and experience to good use. I’m a facilities and health and safety professional currently looking for opportunities within the London area. I have a broad set of skills ranging between organisation within logistics, health & safety, facilities and project management in the events and entertainment industry. My latest role at the Royal College of Arts as Campus Supervisor was an interesting one. A new role designed to help and accommodate students and staff with anything they required, facilities, logistics, transportation, exhibition and event set ups etc. Working at Neg Earth Lighting Ltd is where I started my H&S career, I learned so much in my time there in all aspects of there company, from project co-ordinating the lighting staff for live events, music tours and festivals to collating H&S documentation required for such events. As well as assisting the facilities department with the day to day runnings of the company. Prior to this, I worked for several years following my passion for gardening and garden design - where I learnt all aspects of gardening, landscaping then onto the design side of things. Unfortunately due to a sporting injury requiring surgery, I was unable to carry on with this industry due to the physicality of the work. I first started out my working career in retail sales and stock controlling positions for fashion retail stores such as Harrods, John Lewis and American Apparel. Working my way up from sales/stockroom assistant to Stockroom Manager quite quickly, gaining knowledge in how to manage staff and stockrooms on a daily basis in a high demanding retail environment.
